This Weeks Walk Through the Psalms

“For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou are exalted far above all gods. Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.” his name: bring an offering and come unto his courts. O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.”

Psalm 97:9-10

I’m glad that my Lord is high above all the earth. I’m glad that there
is nothing “earth-like” or “earthy” about Him. His righteousness is as
the burning stars of heaven and His purity is expressed in the cold,
clear heavenly realm in which they are arrayed.

Just as His purity is the expression of His glory, Jesus calls you and
me to walk in His commandments, to hate evil and to glorify His name,
not just in word only but in our very actions. Jesus said in John
14:21, “He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that

words.” In verse 24 He says; “He that loveth me not keepeth not my

If we love the Lord we will hate evil, meaning the evil we used to
walk in before we repented and turned to the Lord Jesus Christ.
God says that if we love Him in this way He will preserve us. Jesus
also tells us in John 15:10 that: “If ye keep my commandments, ye
shall abide in my love.”

Where else would we rather dwell than in the love of our Lord
where He promises to deliver us out of the hand of the wicked!

In Jesus,
Love Ron
